Job summary

Joseph Gallo Farms in Atwater, CA seeks a hands-on Senior Capital Project Engineer to lead improvements across our dairy manufacturing site. You will work with operations, maintenance, quality, and vendors to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in dairy plant engineering, a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and CAD/MS Office proficiency. You will develop charters, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments while upholding GMP and food-safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in dairy plant equipment and sanitary design.
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD and MS Office.
• Knowledge of CIP, HTST pasteurization and process controls.
• Ability to communicate with multiple levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from ideation through design and installation.
• Develop charters, ROI, budgets and detailed budgets.
• Create schedules and resource plans to ensure on-time delivery.
• Develop equipment layouts, PFDs and P&IDs.
• Coordinate FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
• Ensure documentation turnover including O&M manuals and spare parts.
• Manage multiple capital projects with internal and external partners.
• Inform design decisions with product/process data.
• Lead design reviews and risk assessments.
• Report status to leadership.
