Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Process Quality Engineer to lead improvements in process capability, control, and reliability within a defense manufacturing environment. You will drive data-driven methods, APQP deliverables, and real-time quality management across production lines.

Based in Canoga Park, CA, the role emphasizes built-in quality, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring teams on SPC, PFMEA, and control plans while supporting enterprise process control

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Quality Manufacturing Engineering experience; graduate degree acceptable.
• 3+ years of direct experience improving manufacturing processes in a production environment.
• 3+ years of experience analyzing manufacturing data and applying quantitative improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing processes by reducing variation, strengthening control, and elevating process capability.
• Analyze process capability, stability, and failure modes using data-driven methods and digital quality systems.
• Develop and implement process improvements, mistake-proofing, and risk-based controls.
• Apply and sustain SPC methods for real-time process management across production lines.
• Support APQP deliverables including PFDs, PFMEAs, control plans, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with operators, engineers, and supervisors to improve process understanding and standard work.
• Mentor teams on process discipline, APQP fundamentals, SPC tools, and digital control plans.
• Contribute to cost of quality reductions through proactive defect prevention and faster response.
• Travel up to 50% and support multi-site improvement initiatives.
