Job summary

Skydio, Inc. in Hayward, CA, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for our autonomous products.

The role focuses on optimizing labor, increasing capacity, and ensuring scalable production from prototype to high-volume manufacturing. You will perform time studies, capacity analyses, OEE tracking, and cross‑functional collaboration with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Test Engineering.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience developing and optimizing manufacturing processes throughout the full product lifecycle, from NPI to high-volume production.
• Hands-on time studies using MOST, MODAPTS, PMTS or stopwatch methods.
• Strong knowledge of standard work development, labor balancing, and lean improvement techniques.
• Experience with capacity analysis, line balancing, and OEE to improve manufacturing performance.
• Proven project management across cross-functional manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Drive NPI activities with process layouts, tooling, labor models, and ramp plans.
• Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and manufacturing docs.
• Conduct time studies to establish labor standards and productivity gains.
• Perform capacity studies, line balancing, and production modeling to meet demand.
• Analyze OEE, cycle times, and production metrics to maximize throughput.
• Lead Lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve ergonomics and quality.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Design Eng., Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Test Eng.
• Manage multiple manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop business cases for capital equipment and automation.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
