Skydio, Inc. in Hayward, California is seeking an Advanced / NPI Quality Engineer to own product quality from concept through ramp for one product, end to end.

You will set CTQ targets, facilitate risk analysis, qualify suppliers and measurement systems, run build quality and sign off gates.

The role blends design-phase prevention with NPI execution, requiring DFMEA/PFMEA, MSA/gauge R&R, PPAP, and hands-on factory floor and design-review experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quality engineering on physical products, including one product carried from design through mass production.
• Hands-on DFMEA/PFMEA facilitation and control plans used on a line, and MSA/gauge R&R/capability studies you can run yourself.
• Working knowledge of PPAP and root cause methods (8D, 5-Why, fault tree) with verified closure.
• Equally comfortable on the factory floor and in design reviews.
• Preferred: consumer electronics manufacturing and CM/ODM experience.

Responsibilities

• Concept and planning: set CTQ characteristics and quality targets, classify BOM by risk, assign PPAP levels.
• Design/ EVT: facilitate DFMEA closure, contribute to design reviews and DFM, run first article inspection and failure analysis.
• Process/DVT: build PFMEA and control plan, complete MSA on key gauges, review supplier PPAP submissions.
• Validation/PVT: run capability studies and run-at-rate with operators, approve PPAP, implement SPC with response plans.
• Launch: design safe-launch plan with exit criteria, run daily quality reviews, drive 8D on escapes, monitor field AFR.
• Handoff: transfer records to sustaining quality and feed learnings into FMEA libraries.
