Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to provide technical leadership in a fast-paced solar module manufacturing environment in South Carolina. You will work with Development Engineering to create robust, manufacturable processes and lead troubleshooting to meet project schedules.

The role emphasizes QA/QC, DOE/DOE, Six Sigma, and experience in metrology, FMEAs, and data-driven process improvements. Travel and safety compliance are included as part of responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Provide technical leadership within team and drive robust, manufacturable processes.
• Apply structured problem-solving methods (DMAIC) and Six Sigma approaches to improve throughput, yield and performance.
• Develop and qualify new process equipment, perform DOE, and use SPC for process control.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve and document robust solar module manufacturing processes for high product performance at cost.
• Lead teams through continuous improvement activities and structured problem solving.
• Interface with development teams to inject manufacturing requirements into new processes and equipment.
• Design and execute planned process experiments, collect data and report results.
• Provide mentorship and oversight to junior engineers; troubleshoot day-to-day production issues.
