Job summary

Apogee Architectural Metals in Reed City, MI is seeking an experienced Operations Manager II to lead a large manufacturing operation. You will own safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement initiatives, and report to the Director of Operations.

You will coach supervisors, drive daily management, and align cross-functional teams including maintenance, engineering, and quality to meet customer commitments and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience.
• Experience with large or complex operations or multi-site scope.
• Ability to lead supervisors and operational leaders.
• Experience with safety, quality, delivery, cost, and workforce metrics.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure timely, cost-effective production.
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Enforce safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Track KPIs and report to senior leadership.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment reliability.
• Balance customer demand with capacity, labor, and costs.
