Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a Boeing subsidiary, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee planning, development, and control of the defense business unit operations. You will drive performance, promote teamwork, and ensure lean practices to meet contract targets.

Responsibilities include resource planning, safety, and maintaining strong labor relations while delivering on cost targets and schedules. A U.S. citizenship and security clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• 6+ years of experience in a management role in a manufacturing/operations environment.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective planning, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Highly customer focused with the ability to liaise at all levels.
• Demonstrated experience of leadership and financial & business acumen.
• Knowledge and experience of lean practice within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, development, and control of the operations business areas to meet contract schedules, specifications, and cost targets.
• Ensure that measurements, controls, and systems drive operational objectives.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and customer focus.
• Plan and monitor utilization of resources to achieve programs and drive performance.
• Maintain a lean enterprise to deliver organizational agility in quality, cost, and delivery.
• Motivate and develop staff and manage performance in line with business goals.
