Job summary

Butcher Power Products in Sacramento, CA seeks a Senior Manufacturing Industrial Engineer to analyze, design, and improve the end-to-end production flow across the mechanical assembly facility. You will partner with department managers to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and increase throughput, without direct supervisory authority.

The role focuses on value stream mapping, facility layout, scheduling, and QA throughput, driving kaizen events and 5S, while delivering measurable cost and time

Qualifications

• B.S. in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of IE or manufacturing engineering experience in a mechanical assembly environment.
• Hands-on proficiency in VSM, time study, line balancing, and standard work development.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Excel, Power BI, or equivalent).
• Experience building production schedules and modeling capacity.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret BOMs.
• Demonstrated record of driving change through influence, not authority.
• Familiarity with ERP / MES systems.

Responsibilities

• Flow analysis & design — conduct value stream mapping, time studies, capacity analyses and improve workstation layout.
• Facility & layout planning — lead floor layout design for efficient production at scale.
• Production scheduling support — develop/maintain master schedule and model capacity scenarios.
• Incoming parts / receiving — ensure timely, traceable material flow from dock to use.
• Assembly process engineering — establish standard work, takt time, and balance charts.
• Test & QC throughput — analyze test cell utilization and reduce cycle time.
• Shipping coordination — align finish timing with outbound freight windows.
• Continuous improvement leadership — lead kaizen, 5S, and waste-reduction projects.
• KPI ownership & reporting — build dashboards and present metrics with root-cause commentary.
• Cross-functional facilitation — run cadence meetings and resolve sequencing conflicts.
• Tooling & ergonomics — assess workstation ergonomics and tooling with EHS.
