Job summary

Trojan Battery Company in Attica, IN is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. You will optimize manufacturing capabilities and capital equipment, lead design engineers, and coordinate with contractors to automate processes and improve safety, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities include applying lean principles, guiding tooling development, and managing plant-level ME projects from concept to qualification. Strong collaboration and leadership across functions are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a technical field.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Apply lean manufacturing principles in operations and process layouts.
• Manage tooling design, modification, and maintenance for production machinery.
• Own capital projects including equipment requests, budget, and timeline management.
• Direct ME projects and lead engineers to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability and facilitate new product introductions.
• Ensure compliance with emissions and environmental requirements and document processes.
