Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) to lead improvements from design through production for cutting-edge space hardware. Based in Hawthorne, CA, you will own the handoff between engineering and production and drive manufacturing optimization.

You will develop and manage BOMs and work instructions, coordinate with multiple teams, and lead cost-reduction projects while preserving quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in design, development, manufacturing or test.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for design and process improvements to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Analyze and disposition recurring manufacturing discrepancies with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create and manage manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and specifications.
• Communicate daily with production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design engineering to ensure on-time delivery.
• Lead projects for alternate component technologies for reduced cost or improved quality.
