Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to turn complex electro-mechanical products into safe, reliable production lines for aircraft, docks, and logistics hardware.

You will own final assembly and feeder lines from process definition through validation, release, and sustainment, scaling output from tens to thousands of units weekly in the coming years while meeting safety and reliability targets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering on electro-mechanical lines.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• PFMEA, control plans, SPC, Cp/Cpk, first-article validation.
• Experience designing custom fixtures, jigs, and tooling; 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred).
• Experience with MES/ERP and statistical tools (Minitab, JMP, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end industrialization of assigned assembly lines and feeder sub-assemblies, from concept and tooling to production release.
• Design, procure, fabricate, install, and commission fixtures, gauges, tooling, workstations, and ergonomic flows.
• Define and sign off on process validation, PFMEAs, control plans, Cp/Cpk, and first-article inspections.
• Monitor yield, throughput, MTBF, downtime, and cost-of-poor-quality; drive quarterly improvements.
• Lead DFM decisions to reduce cycle time and cost while meeting aerospace safety standards.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training materials for technicians.
• Coordinate with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations as manufacturing owner.
