Job summary

CesiumAstro in Westminster, Colorado seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead development and implementation of manufacturing processes for high-rel satellite hardware. You will drive complex production methods, validate processes, and support design reviews to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost targets across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with at least 5 years of industry experience.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of electronics hardware.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
• Experience with change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with cost analysis, managing suppliers, and configuration management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes, workflows, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for complex products.
• Conduct engineering analyses, time studies, and capacity analyses to improve production performance.
• Evaluate drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing requirements to resolve challenges.
• Perform process validation, equipment qualification, first article builds, and readiness activities.
• Assess production performance, data, process capability, and quality metrics to resolve issues.
• Validate processes through root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to provide engineering support.
• Develop manufacturing documentation, reports, and process flows for program needs.
• Support design reviews, manufacturing reviews, and NPI with manufacturing guidance.
• Maintain documentation and configuration-controlled technical information.
• Evaluate manufacturing methods to identify improvements and enhance manufacturability.
