Job summary

CesiumAstro, a leader in satellite communication systems, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive manufacturing processes for high-reliability, high-volume products. You will lead development and improvement of processes, equipment, and production methods, collaborating across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations.

The role requires a BS in an engineering field and 5+ years of experience, with DFM of electronics, IPC/J-STD standards, change management, and cost analysis.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with at least 5 years in industry.
• Experience with DFM of electronics hardware and IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001.
• Experience with change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes, workflows, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
• Conduct engineering analyses, time studies, and capacity analyses to improve performance.
• Evaluate drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing requirements; resolve complex challenges.
• Validate processes, qualify equipment, perform first article builds and readiness activities.
• Assess production performance, data, and metrics; resolve manufacturing issues.
• Carry out root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations for engineering support.
