Job summary

CesiumAstro seeks a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to lead development and improvement of manufacturing processes for space-grade products. You will define workflows, tooling, and work instructions, and drive process validation and production readiness across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes manufacturing engineering leadership, documentation, and continuous improvement to enhance quality and efficiency in a demanding space hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to lead complex manufacturing initiatives and improve processes.
• Strong knowledge of lean, SPC, and quality systems.
• Experience with CAD tools and manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with MES/ERP systems and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Establish manufacturing processes, workflows, tooling, and work instructions for complex products.
• Lead process development, validation, and production readiness activities.
• Evaluate production performance and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, QA, supply chain, and operations.
• Develop manufacturing documentation and process flows to support decisions.
• Support design reviews and new product introduction with manufacturing guidance.
