Job summary

Unigen, headquartered in Newark, California, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing/remanufacturing processes for high-density server components. You will drive efficiency, cost estimates, and MPI development while coordinating cross-functional teams and client interfaces.

The role emphasizes DFM/Repairability insights, BOM management, and tooling design; strong collaboration with Quality, Supply Chain, and Production is essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical box build, system integration, and repurposing of components for enterprise servers.
• Author Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) and routing instructions for assembly and teardown/harvesting workflows.
• Experience with Panasonic equipment, offline SPI, reflow profiling, conformal coating, and torque-driver systems.
• Knowledge of MES, barcode/traceability interfaces, and maintenance tooling systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to document processes clearly and produce SOPs for production operators and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing, remanufacturing, and component repurposing processes.
• Lead engineering for complex mechanical box builds with multi-level BOMs.
• Coordinate product launches, trainings, and pilot builds with clients and design teams.
• Manage labor quotes, NRE estimates, and ECO/MCO changes; update MPIs and tooling.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to operators and supervisors.
• Participate in RCA and CAPA to improve yield and reduce field failures.
