Job summary

Rivian in Atlanta, GA seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive the development and implementation of next-generation power electronics manufacturing processes and lines. You will own the equipment lifecycle from design to ramp-up, and work on PFMEA, FAT/SAT, and process validation.

The role requires BS/MS in engineering or related field, 4+ years in automated manufacturing, and strong proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia). Travel domestically/internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 4 years experience in an automated manufacturing environment (including internships).
• Hands-on experience building/troubleshooting automation systems and acquiring experimental data.
• Strong problem solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly.
• Communicate effectively with team and peers within a manufacturing/engineering org.
• Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
• Proficient in complex electro-mechanical system design; GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with 2D/3D software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated production lines for flow, ergonomics, efficiency, and quality.
• Manage the entire equipment lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Lead in-house development of workstations, manufacturing equipment, and fixtures.
• Oversee installation, acceptance testing and ramp up of equipment/lines.
• Address FAT/SAT issues and hand off to production.
• Lead validation of new equipment and fixtures for production use.
• Participate in prototype equipment builds to develop processes.
• Provide DFM feedback to Product Design Engineering.
• Develop new manufacturing processes, sequences, and recipes.
• Identify and drive corrective actions for performance/quality issues.
• Create detailed Manufacturing Instructions for new processes/equipment.
• Perform PFMEA, control plans, and capacity modeling.
• Support product traceability and shop floor tracking.
