Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Fletcher, NC is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive production improvement onsite.

You will translate complex designs into practical manufacturing solutions and lead safety culture while coordinating with engineering, operations, and maintenance to keep lines running reliably. You will apply Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methods to reduce waste, optimize tooling and processes, and document standardized procedures that ensure consistency across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve issues quickly and implement improvements.
• Use production data and root-cause analysis to guide optimization.
• Plan, prioritize, and execute engineering projects including tooling launches and equipment upgrades.
• Introduce new processes and standards with operator buy-in.
• Provide technical leadership to technicians and junior engineers.
• Identify safety, quality, or reliability risks early and act.
• Drive throughput and quality through Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen.
• Respond quickly to production needs and equipment issues.
