Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Fletcher, NC seeks a Housing Manufacturing Engineering Leader to oversee the Housings department within the CDBS facility. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, drive equipment and process improvements, and coordinate with GME teams on capital projects to support capacity growth.

The role emphasizes Lean manufacturing, safety, reliability, and continuous development of technical talent across operations, engineering, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
• Leads and mentors engineers and technicians in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing Engineering Operations, guiding engineers and technicians to align with production, safety, quality, and business goals.
• Drive equipment design, procurement, and process improvements to boost performance and reliability.
• Champion OEE improvements by reducing downtime and increasing uptime across production lines.
• Support day-to-day production activities to maintain operational stability.
• Partner with GME teams to plan and execute capital equipment projects for capacity and productivity growth.
• Advance continuous improvement using Cummins standards and problem-solving tools.
