Job summary

Wipro in Boston seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development from concept to high-volume production, drive line layouts, and optimize workstations.

You will standardize documentation, provide DFM/DFA feedback, and partner with Quality, Facilities, and Supply Chain to improve OEE, cycle times, and first-pass yields.

This role requires 7+ years in discrete manufacturing and a hands-on mindset to mentor cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
• 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or production launch.
• Direct experience in large-scale discrete manufacturing (e.g., automotive, battery, energy, aerospace, or heavy equipment).
• Proven track record collaborating with Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, and EHS.

Responsibilities

• NPI & Process Development: lead process flow planning and workstation design from concept to ramp-up.
• Standardization & Documentation: create SOPs, work instructions, flow diagrams, routings, and launch checklists.
• DFM & Tolerizing: provide DFM/DFM feedback and guide GD&T/tolerance stack-up practices.
• Quality & Risk Control: lead PFMEAs, control plans, APQP/PPAP inputs, and root-cause analyses.
• Automation & Controls: deploy tooling, fixtures, and safety systems with equipment teams.
• Logistics & Material Flow: implement PFEP strategies, sequencing, and line-side delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: troubleshoot bottlenecks and optimize cycle times, yield, and OEE.
