Job summary

Saint-Gobain Performance Polymer Solutions in Garden Grove, CA, seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to lead cross-functional initiatives, launch new products, and improve profitability on existing products within manufacturing operations.

You will drive projects to boost facility efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve product quality, while managing teams and coordinating with R&D, production, and marketing to develop new processes and documentation for implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Manufacturing is required.
• Master's degree in Engineering/Manufacturing is preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting with demonstrated project leadership/management.
• 5+ years of experience in Hot Compression mold design and/or plastics molding (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement manufacturing projects to improve facility efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve product quality to contain costs.
• Manage teams of employees in focused areas of productivity improvement.
• Interact with department leadership to ensure effective implementation of systematic changes.
• Perform facility improvement projects supporting building maintenance and 5-S initiatives.
• Collaborate with production supervision to resolve shop-floor manufacturing problems.
• Originate and update manufacturing/engineering documentation including procedures, specifications, and drawings; train personnel on procedures.
• Interact with manufacturing management, R&D, and marketing to identify and develop new processes.

• Identify and implement manufacturing projects which improve facility efficiency, reduce scrap, and/or improve product quality in order to contain and/or decrease costs. These include capital and WCM inspired projects.
• Manage teams of employees in focused areas of productivity improvement.
• Interact with the leadership of the affected departments to ensure the effective implementation of systematic changes.
• Perform various facility improvement projects assisting building maintenance and 5-S efforts.
• Work with production supervision and operators to resolve immediate manufacturing problems on the shop floor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Manufacturing (required)
• Master's degree in Engineering/Manufacturing (preferred)
• 10+ years experience working in an Engineering capacity in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated project leadership/management and team collaboration
• Progressive experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with experience working in operations, process engineering and manufacturing with demonstrated sense of urgency to successfully complete project goal(s)
• 5+ years experience (Hot Compression) Mold designing and/or Experience with molding plastics, preferably fluoropolymers (preferred)

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $92,000 to $142,000 annually, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based with a maximum of up to 24% on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $103,040 to $159,040. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
