Job summary

Lam Research in Fremont, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 4 to lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for high-value, mechatronic assemblies. You will work with design teams to ensure manufacturability and drive continuous improvements across cost, quality, and throughput.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering and 8+ years of related experience (5+ with a Master’s).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience; or 5 years with a Master’s degree.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust manufacturing processes for specialized mechatronic products.
• Manage MBOMs and maintain reporting systems for traceability of manufacturing operations.
• Interface with design engineering to ensure manufacturability via DFMA, PFMEA, serviceability, safety, ergonomics, and modularity analyses.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives impacting quality, yield, cost, and throughput.
• Perform root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions for quality escapes and bottlenecks.
• Execute cost and capacity analyses to recommend make vs buy strategies for key components.
• Engage with suppliers to address manufacturability issues and develop fixtures or fabrication equipment.
