Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support high-velocity, specialty assemblies for production tools. You will develop and maintain robust processes, manage MBOMs, and work with design teams to improve manufacturability and efficiency.

You will lead continuous improvement, analyze cost and capacity, and engage suppliers to optimize throughput. Hybrid on-site/remote work options are available, with a California Bay Area salary range highlighted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 8+ years of related experience; or 5 years with a Master’s degree.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities in electromechanical assemblies.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in DFMA with structured problem solving and decision making.
• Experience in Engineering Change Management Processes.
• Working knowledge in work instructions, process planning and BOM management.
• Excellent communication in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust manufacturing processes for specialized mechatronic products.
• Manage MBOMs and maintain reporting systems for traceability of manufacturing operations.
• Interface with design engineering to provide feedback for manufacturability based on DFMA, PFMEA, serviceability, safety, ergonomics, and modularity analyses.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives impacting quality, yield, cost, and throughput.
• Perform root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions for quality escapes and bottlenecks.
• Execute cost and capacity analysis to recommend make vs buy strategies for key components.
• Engage with suppliers to address issues that impact manufacturability.
• Design fixtures and develop new or optimize fabrication equipment; integrate software and controls to manufacturing flow.
