Job summary

Smith & Wesson is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet product specs and quality standards. The role emphasizes process improvement, problem resolution, project management, and staff training, working within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility.

The candidate will lead manufacturing launches, interpret complex drawings, and coordinate tools, equipment, and CMM/CNC programs while driving cost reductions and efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSME) or equivalent.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably firearms industry.
• Strong understanding of lean principles.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes and methods.
• Interpret complex drawings and design intent.
• Coordinate manufacturing launches for new/revised products.
• Document tooling, gauges, and CNC/CMM programs.
• Cost, quality, and efficiency improvement analyses.
• Maintain routing database with times and instructions.
• Train internal staff and work with external support.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to represent manufacturing.
• Work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
