Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in St. Johnsbury, VT to lead process optimization and equipment improvements for safe, efficient production. The role collaborates with Sales, Manufacturing and Maintenance to execute major upgrades and new projects.

You will develop layouts, document procedures, and manage capital & expense projects while ensuring compliance with WEIDMANN safety and quality systems. Strong problem-solving and training abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and 10 years of experience, or related technical degree and 15 years of experience required.
• Proficient in Autocad.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments; proficient in LOTUS, WORD, and other Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of SAP.
• Experienced problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to train others.
• Knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and improve processes, equipment, and factory layouts for safe operation and effective production.
• Lead major improvement and new equipment efforts.
• Ensure compliance with WEIDMANN QST, EMS, and QMS systems.
• Coordinate with Sales and Manufacturing; manage contractor safety and sign-in/out.
• Develop capital & expense projects to upgrade or replace production equipment.
• Plan and implement production processes based on customer requirements.
• Provide training and technical information to engineering and production teams.
