Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Staunton, VA facility. The role centers on solving manufacturing problems, evaluating options, and designing equipment to meet key production needs.

You will lead installation, setup, debugging, and training for capital projects, coordinating with operations and corporate staff. A strong lean manufacturing background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME or BSEE preferred).
• 5+ years of related technical experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Track record of initiative and applying past experience to new problems.
• Experience coordinating capital expenditure requests.
• Strong CAD knowledge with Solid Edge or SolidWorks.
• Lean manufacturing principles grounding.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Experience with APQP in launches.
• Strong mechanical background with automated equipment.
• Comfort configuring Windows systems for machine interfaces and network.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing problems and develop alternative approaches.
• Evaluate solutions for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Maintain hands-on knowledge of operating systems and mechanical equipment.
• Stay current on mechanical and electrical tech to improve processes.
• Keep Manufacturing Engineering Manager informed on project status.
• Write tool orders and material requisitions, coordinating with vendors or in-house teams.
