Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Troy, OH to lead assembly processes, lean improvements, and capital projects. You will partner with QA, EH&S, Design Eng and Maintenance to ensure robust manufacturing support and continuous improvement across production lines.

Responsibilities include process design, standard work, training, data analysis and leading cross-functional initiatives to reduce costs and improve productivity.

Qualifications

• University degree and 5+ years relevant experience or an advanced degree and 3+ years experience.
• U.S. Person status required due to access to controlled information.
• Experience with assembly operations and problem solving.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience (A3, VSM, Kaizen, Standard Work, 5S).
• Experience leading gated project management and capital equipment projects.
• Experience with new equipment, automation, or tooling in production.

Responsibilities

• Assure manufacturing process, equipment, tooling design, routings, and standard work.
• Develop and sustain assembly processes using lean principles and visual management.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
• Identify cost savings in labor, scrap, process efficiency, and capital deployment.
• Manage projects with gated reviews including scope, timing and risk.
• Lead capital projects including equipment justification and installation.
• Conduct industrial engineering analyses (time studies, line balancing, work sampling).
• Support compliance (AS9100, NADCAP) and audits; maintain certification requirements.
• Collaborate across Value Streams, QA, EH&S, Design Eng, Maintenance.
• Train operators on process and equipment changes; support off-shift needs.
