Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC, is building a new Transformers Manufacturing Center, and this Manufacturing Engineer role will oversee the factory build, implement new processes, and lead a high-performance team to prepare for production.

The day-to-day includes defining safety, quality, and cost improvements across the end-to-end process, collaborating with multiple departments, and driving standardization, innovation, and decarbonization while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electric, Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering; other disciplines will be considered with hands on experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Power Transformers (>30 MVA & >75.5 kV).
• Experience with project management, planning and logistics.
• Six Sigma certification and lean manufacturing knowledge strongly preferred.
• Experience with SAP and HANA systems.
• Familiarity with TPM and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Responsibilities

• Define and lead strategies, tactics, projects, and methods to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Lead and contribute to manufacturing policies, guidelines, processes, and procedures for worldwide standardization and continuous improvement.
• Research and implement innovations, digital tools, and decarbonization projects to generate a positive environmental impact.
• Perform risk assessments and certify critical processes with cross-department input.
• Propose, monitor and control short-, mid-, and long-term development projects, investment, budgets, and ensure optimum machine utilization.
• Support planning and industrial processes for capacity calculation and training.
