Philip Morris USA in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I to lead Expanded Tobacco (ET) process engineering, providing technical and project support for 24/7 operations. You will partner with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to improve reliability and performance, and manage contracts and safety requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 3+ years of field experience with pumps, valves, PFDs/P&IDs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3+ years in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
• Experience with process equipment, instrumentation, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, leadership and project management skills.
• Willingness to work onsite and support back shifts and travel as needed.

• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations with internal/external resources.

We are currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team in Richmond, VA. Specifically, this position is for the Expanded Tobacco (ET) Process Engineer role that provides technical, maintenance, and project support for ET operations. This role develops deep knowledge of ET processes, equipment, and control systems; serves as a technical consultant to Operations; applies analytical problem-solving methods to improve reliability and performance; and leads projects. The position requires effective coordination with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, and other stakeholders in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

You will lead manufacturing capability projects in our world class manufacturing facility.

What you will be doing:

• Build expertise in ET processes, equipment, instrumentation, and control systems to support operations, maintenance, yield improvement, and equipment reliability in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations, coordinating with internal and external resources through resolution.
• Monitor daily process performance using Axiom, Tableau, and other analytical tools; identify issues and drive corrective actions.
• Communicate priorities and actions across Production, Maintenance and Engineering, including participation in daily maintenance and shift meetings.
• Manage ET service contracts, contractor activities, purchase orders, and safety requirements.
• Lead select ET projects and support other project managers as needed.

What we want you to have:

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering field
• Minimum 3+ years proven field experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related field. Process engineering experience preferred.
• Competency with basic process equipment (i.e. pumps, compressors), instrumentation (control valves, flow meters) and technical documentation (PFDs, P&IDs)
• Strong communication, leadership and project management skills with the experience leading technical projects and presenting scope, timelines, and budgets to senior leadership.
• Willingness to take initiative and have accountability
• Proven ability to apply equipment or process knowledge and technology to analyze and troubleshoot machinery problems in support of factory maintenance personnel.
• Possess a proven track record of balancing multiple priorities in a changing environment.
• Make decisions using independent judgment under time constraints with minimal direction when required.
• The ability to work onsite during normal work hours and support back shifts, weekends and travel as needed, though minimal

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $91,500.00 - $132,750.00.
