Job summary

Thea Energy is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer III to lead development, validation, and scale‑up of HTS magnet manufacturing processes at its New Jersey facility. You will drive complex tooling, fixtures, and automated assembly equipment while collaborating with engineering to ensure manufacturability and quality.

You will own end-to-end tooling design, BOMs, and process validation, mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with suppliers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience building complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with high-precision joining and metal fusion processes.
• Experience scaling low-volume development to production with PLM, MRP, and ERP.
• GD&T per ASME Y14.5 demonstrated.
• Experience in fusion, aerospace, medical devices, or high-reliability sectors.
• Strong leadership and communication; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and standardization of manufacturing docs for HTS magnets.
• Own end-to-end design and build of custom tooling and equipment.
• Partner with Magnet Engineering for manufacturability and DFMEA.
• Manage manufacturing BOMs, routings, and inventory in PLM/MRP.
• Define specs and source high-precision hardware and capital equipment.
• Define technician roles and mentor junior engineers.
• Track milestones, schedules, and budgets for magnet initiatives.
