Job summary

Thea Energy is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the manufacturing roadmap and capital equipment strategy for HTS magnet production in New Jersey. You will mentor engineers, define workflows, and collaborate with executives to scale fusion hardware from concept to commercial-grade manufacturing.

You will drive design-for-manufacture, lead capital tooling programs, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in high-tech or precision hardware environments.
• Proven track record of taking complex electro-mechanical systems from concept through factory floor commissioning.
• Deep expertise in GD&T, SPC, PFMEA, and modern enterprise software systems (PLM, MRP, ERP).

Responsibilities

• Establish manufacturing architecture, factory layout, and process methodologies for HTS magnet production.
• Partner with design and physics leaders to guarantee design for manufacturability and cost optimization from concept through prototyping.
• Direct the design, acquisition, installation, and qualification of capital equipment and automated systems.
• Architect foundational Process Engineering frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead technical relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers to secure hardware and resolve bottlenecks.
• Provide mentorship to Manufacturing Engineers and interface with executive leadership on schedules and budgets.
