Job summary

QuantumScape is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to keep the Gen 1 battery production line running smoothly on the manufacturing floor. You will work hands-on with operators and technicians to maintain equipment performance, identify yield losses, and support day-to-day operations.

The role emphasizes data-driven analysis, problem solving, and collaboration with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure reliable line performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• 5+ years hands-on manufacturing/production engineering experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical and automated tooling.
• Proficiency with SPC, control charts, and data-driven process monitoring.
• Strong collaboration with operators, technicians, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-floor engineering resource for Gen 1 battery manufacturing tools and stations.
• Analyze production data to identify yield loss, quality trends, and defects; implement floor-level controls.
• Lead structured RCAs for equipment and yield issues; drive CAPAs and verify effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to sustain line performance and address challenges.
