Job summary

Columbia Tech in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate and improve processes across design, fabrication, and assembly, aligning with SOWs and project goals. The role collaborates with Design, Project, and Quality teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering, 6+ years in ISO capital equipment manufacturing, and hands-on CAD (SolidWorks) and ERP/MRP experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Discipline required.
• 6+ years’ experience in ISO regulated capital equipment manufacturing.
• Experience with New Product Development processes and collaboration with development engineers.
• Experience with New Product Introduction.
• Proficient CAD (SolidWorks) and MS Office/MS Project; familiarity with MRP/ERP.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T, inspection methods and tools.
• DFMEA/PFMEA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manufacturing processes across product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers to understand product requirements for AFDs.
• Generate Process Flow and Assembly Flow Diagrams for new products.
• Create initial work instructions and refine them with feedback.
• Identify high-risk processes and in-process QC points.
• Work with Quality Engineers to develop QA forms.
• Support transition of products to production with engineers and supervisors.
• Participate in design reviews to identify DFMA/Cost Reduction opportunities.
• Read and interpret engineering level assembly drawings.
• Assist with assembly time studies and labor justification.
