Job summary

Columbia Tech seeks a qualified engineer to improve manufacturing processes in an ISO-regulated capital equipment environment. You will translate product requirements into DFMA-friendly assembly steps and documentation in collaboration with Design and Project Engineers.

You should have strong CAD experience (SolidWorks), familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, GD&T, and DFMEA/PFMEA, and be comfortable leading cross-functional teams from prototype through production transfers.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited program.
6+ years' experience in ISO-regulated capital equipment manufacturing.
Experience with NPD and collaboration with development engineers.
Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
Working experience with CAD (SolidWorks), MS Office, MS Project, and MRP/ERP systems.
Knowledge of GD&T, inspection methods, and DFMEA/PFMEA.

Responsibilities

Evaluate manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
Work with Design Engineers to understand product requirements related to AFDs.
Collaborate with Program Managers on understanding SOW deliverables.
Partner with Quality Engineers to maintain product quality.
Generate Process Flow and Assembly Flow Diagrams for new products.
Create initial work instructions and refine them during beta/pilot builds.
Identify high-risk processes to minimize client risk.
Provide troubleshooting and guidance to engineering technicians and assembly staff.
Support transition of products to production and assist with time studies as needed.
