Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is expanding a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery factory in De Soto, Kansas. The Manufacturing Engineer III will lead cross-functional projects, drive process and equipment improvements, and mentor newer engineers in a high-volume environment.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency as part of building a world-class manufacturing organization for sustainable energy solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited program.
• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level continuous improvement initiatives (preferred).
• OSHA/industrial safety awareness and related certifications (preferred).
• Strong cross-functional communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium-sized process improvement, equipment upgrades, or automation projects within a high-volume lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects and teams.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Controls, and Engineering to implement improvements.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while delivering on schedules and budgets.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related STEM field
