Job summary

Specialist Staffing Group partnered with a medical device manufacturer to recruit a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who will lead process development, automation initiatives, and manufacturing excellence in a high-precision environment.

You will drive improvements from concept to implementation, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure compliant, lean production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong background in process development, automation, and project management.
• Experience in regulated/precision manufacturing (medical devices, aerospace, defense) or similar sectors.
• Hands-on with machining, metal fabrication, tooling, fixtures, or plastics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and perform technical problem-solving.
• Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100 is highly desirable.
• SolidWorks or other 3D CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive automation and operational efficiency projects from concept through implementation.
• Analyze and optimize workflows, equipment layouts, and production methods.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
• Support new product introductions and process validation activities.
• Conduct technical reviews and present recommendations to leadership.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Champion lean manufacturing and quality-driven improvements.
