Job summary

IEM in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead advanced manufacturing initiatives, optimize processes, and drive automation. This in‑office role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and focuses on Lean, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 to improve quality and throughput.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee capital projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop documentation such as SOPs and process maps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 7–10+ years in manufacturing engineering in high‑volume environments.
• Strong Lean, Six Sigma, Standard Work, process mapping, and SPC experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of advanced manufacturing processes and production systems.
• Drive automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives to enable data‑driven manufacturing and improve agility.
• Serve as technical authority in cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and cost‑effectiveness.
• Facilitate kaizen events, RCA, and CAPA implementation.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and training guides for consistency and compliance.
• Optimize line layouts, material flow, and takt time using Lean methods.
• Own KPIs like yield, cycle time, scrap rate, and OEE; drive continuous improvement.
• Lead capital project initiatives including equipment selection, procurement, commissioning, and validation.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory standards compliance (ISO, UL, OSHA, FDA as applicable).
• Champion cost reduction through DFM, value engineering, and process automation.
