Socket.dev in Berthoud, Colorado, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development and manufacturing for next-generation aerospace and defense products. The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, assembly, integration, and test, with strong focus on process improvement, scalability, and manufacturing readiness.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in high-reliability hardware, experience with MES/ERP, and a background in establishing design-for-manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years experience designing or manufacturing high reliability hardware and complex assemblies.
• Familiarity with MES and ERP systems.
• Experience with work instructions and process specifications.

Responsibilities

• Own and support manufacturing process development and champion industry best practices.
• Establish design for manufacturing principles with design engineering, quality, and staff.
• Accelerate capabilities with quality, capacity, scalability, ergonomics, and automation.
• Hands-on role in manufacturing: prototype builds, instructions, tooling, continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement test procedures to validate product requirements and performance.
• Own manufacturing BOMs, routings, process planning, and change management.
