Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join its organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Support production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Spend the majority of time, up to 90%, on shop floor resolving manufacturing-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to engineers on various technical tasks.
  • Perform activities across production planning, quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering.
  • Interact with internal and external customers regarding product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
  • Apply knowledge of product design and technology to solve engineering problems.
  • Select the best method or process from existing options.
  • Develop and revise technical documentation and contribute to technical papers or presentations.
  • Deliver technical presentations.
  • Conduct technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluate results to address engineering challenges.
  • Analyze design specifications, drawings, and test results to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Apply basic lean/six sigma principles to improve production processes.
  • Collaborate with employees across multiple facilities nationwide.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Background in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Knowledge of welding practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Experience in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Experience in team-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience with shop employees.
  • Formal education in Weld Engineering or related fields.
  • Practical experience with welding and auto mechanics.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $86,460 - $146,982

Note: Salaries depend on various factors including skills, education, experience, and market conditions.
