About the Role

Moog Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the Prismatic (Complex Milling) Manufacturing Group located in East Aurora, NY. The primary responsibility will be developing new product and manufacturing processes, as well as applying continuous improvement manufacturing technologies to existing or mature production programs.

In this role, you'll take ownership and drive results by performing challenging and nonroutine manufacturing engineering tasks, applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and innovative thinking. You will be responsible for manufacturing processes in East Aurora, NY, and support other aircraft facilities worldwide as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Or an Associate's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience
• Or a High School diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of 5-Axis Milling experience in CNC programming utilizing CAD/CAM
• Experience in process engineering from raw material to finished goods
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating machines
• Experience machining various materials (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, etc.) on complex milled parts
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools and workholding, including selection and design
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Project management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop new and emerging manufacturing technologies
• Coordinate Design for Manufacturing efforts across engineering groups
• Determine manufacturing procedures, operation sequencing, tooling, and gauge lists
• Create and validate N/C programs, write detailed operations sheets and work instructions
• Support continuous improvement efforts for existing processes
• Develop and monitor time standards and economic run quantities
• Provide cost estimates for new business and process improvements
• Lead evaluation, justification, purchasing, and implementation of manufacturing capital equipment
• Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, operations, quality, and external suppliers
• Balance shop floor interaction with office work, including machine program proveouts
• Lead projects as assigned by group leaders or managers
• Support automated manufacturing cells and drive process stability
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed (~5% or two weeks per year)

Salary Range and Benefits

Buffalo, NY: $90,000 - $145,000 annually

The salary range varies based on experience, location, and performance. Compensation includes bonuses, stock plans, paid time off, and region-specific benefits.
