Senior Manufacturing Engineer

- Bachelor of Science Degree (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Tech) or very strong manufacturing engineering experience as an alternative
- 5+ years Manufacturing Engineering with milled parts experience and increasing responsibility
- 5+ years hands-on machining experience
- CAD/CAM CNC milled parts programming experience (Siemens NX preferred). Fluent in G&M Code programming
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools and workholding, with experience in quick change and automation tooling/workholding
- Ability to create efficient CNC programs for complex milled parts
- Experience with 5-Axis Machining centers (Okuma MU-4000V, MU-5000V, MU-8000V, Mazak I-600 preferred)
- Progressive thinker and self-starter to advance manufacturing methodologies and technologies
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to guide and lead other manufacturing engineers
- Experience developing automated and advanced manufacturing systems
- Lean mindset and leadership skills; Lean belt certification a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects; MS Project experience a plus
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency
- Experience machining a variety of aerospace materials (Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless Steels, etc.)
We seek an outstanding Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the Prismatic (Complex Milling) Manufacturing Group. Responsibilities include developing new products and manufacturing processes, applying continuous improvement technologies, and supporting global facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and develop new manufacturing technologies and processes
- Coordinate Design for Manufacturing efforts across engineering groups
- Determine procedures, operation sequencing, tooling, create N/C programs, and work instructions for complex milled parts
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare and update time standards and cost estimates
- Lead capital equipment evaluation, justification, and implementation
- Collaborate with various disciplines and external suppliers to solve process issues
- Split time between shop floor and office tasks, including machine prove-outs
- Lead projects as assigned
- Support automated manufacturing cells, aiming for process stability and reduced labor
- Potentially manage a dedicated manufacturing cell
- Travel domestically and internationally (~5%)
