Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military jet engines, is seeking talented Supplier Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to join our organization.We are seeking experienced and versatile Engineers to support manufacturing of P&W parts at designated suppliers. This individual is expected to develop strong relationships with suppliers(s) in order to drive expected quality, delivery and cost performance. Activities to include, design for manufacturability, validation of manufacturing processes, ensuring that products meet design and quality requirements. This position will report to the Global Supply Chain Operational Excellence (OpX) organization.

Responsibilities:

• Through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) assess Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) within P&W Supply Base.
• Support P&W suppliers with manufacturing methods.
• Identify and provide recommendations that will lead to stronger process control, a reduction in throughput and decreased quality risk at suppliers.
• Provide manufacturing producibility feedback to P&W’s Integrated Product Team(s) (IPT).
• Evaluate engineering changes and be the voice of Operations in technical reviews that establishes the MRL advancement plan and certification.Includeevaluations on tooling, equipment and special test and inspection requirements.
• Provide manufacturing support for critical supply issues and troubleshooting quality issues and assist suppliers with root cause and corrective actions.
• Maintain and drive continuous improvements to manufacturing standard work, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and systemic audit findings.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science required.Major in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts
• Successful candidates have a strong manufacturing engineering background and shop operations experience, and a minimum of5-7+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with detailed work instruction, process engineering and aerospace manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Must be an analytical and detail-oriented self-starter.
• Effective team player with strong good interpersonal skills capable of influencing and getting cooperation and action from others.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ideal candidates are energetic, flexible, ethical, creative, and possess a positive attitude.
• Experience working in an external supplier environment.
• Detailed knowledge of principles and practices of manufacturing engineering including process planning and development, tool selection, and work holding principles.
• Technical experience in manufacturing of jet engine components such as Machining, Sheet Metal, Forging, Casting, Airfoils or Special processing technology.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and inspection methods, process controls, understanding of Lean or Six Sigma tools is preferred.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience.
• Advanced degree.
