Job description

The annual base salary range for this position is $98,400.00 - $123,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. You will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and work out of our Northford, CT location. Position Summary

The Manufacturing Solder Process Developer is responsible for all aspects of SMT and wave solder PCB manufacturing processes, including development, sustainment, and productivity activities. This includes creating SMT programs, reflow profiles, and wave profiles to ensure consistent quality, recommending equipment, tooling, and process requirements for new and existing product lines, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. The role also involves providing rapid technical solutions to maintain manufacturing continuity and supporting metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage projects related to solder process development for NPI
  • Work with Design Engineering to develop build strategies
  • Develop solder methodologies and documentation
  • Specify and implement SMT and wave solder automation solutions
  • Develop, debug, and deploy solder solutions for new and existing products
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians
  • Train staff on equipment, procedures, fixtures, and systems
  • Support safety, quality, reliability, cycle time, productivity, and delivery goals
  • Adhere to ISO and quality procedures
  • Minimum five years of SMT and wave solder process experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and statistical process control skills
  • Experience with Panasonic SMT equipment
  • Project management experience of at least five years
  • Knowledge of Lean principles
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, dynamic environment

  • Technical skills to develop and report manufacturing metrics
Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years managing industrial engineering projects/teams
