Job summary

New Pig Corporation in Tipton, PA is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead cost accounting and inventory valuation across multiple sites, ensuring accurate reporting and strong financial controls. This role partners with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to optimize costing processes and support decision-making.

You will manage standard cost updates, analyze variances, and develop financial models while mentoring a small cost accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and U.S. GAAP; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve cost accounting system across locations.
• Analyze manufacturing costs (materials, labor, overhead, scrap, landed costs).
• Establish cost standards and investigate variances.
• Perform standard cost updates monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Monitor inventory transactions and BOM accuracy with Engineering & Production.
• Prepare and post journal entries; reconcile balance sheets monthly.
• Develop cost reports and present findings to management.
• Create financial models and cost analyses; support budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead and develop a small team of cost accountants.
