Job summary

Roche Diagnostics in Indianapolis is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Controls to lead continuous improvement on automated equipment and provide technical support to manufacturing teams.

You will troubleshoot, optimize, and validate processes, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with Roche standards and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes developing and validating control systems, working with cross‑functional teams, and supporting information management and cyber security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related discipline with 5 years of experience or Master’s/PhD with 2 years of experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting, modifying, and developing industrial equipment controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, Motion Control).
  • Strong ability to write and present technical documentation and support cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods and processes for products and assemblies.
  • Develops and improves automation and electromechanical processes; studies requirements and tests methods.
  • Coordinates product releases with design and process development engineering for manufacturing.
  • Assists in estimating manufacturing cost and recommends tooling, controls hardware/software, and process requirements.
  • Manages multiple projects and ensures changes are validated per policies.
  • Ensures product quality by designing testing methods and validating fabrication and installation processes.
  • Supports strategic direction and cross‑functional collaboration across teams.
