Job summary

U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company (USSTC) in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Controls Engineer II to lead equipment and system engineering efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role includes troubleshooting PLCs, supporting reliability initiatives, and implementing control system improvements across production lines. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 6–8 years of experience with Allen Bradley and Beckhoff platforms, plus strong leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
6-8 years of experience in manufacturing, factory controls support, and PLC troubleshooting.
Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix and Beckhoff PLC platforms and vision systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve issues on process and packing equipment, including customized machinery.
Support reliability initiatives to minimize failures via root cause analysis and predictive maintenance.
Analyze PLC-controlled equipment performance and trends; apply improvements to meet product specs.
Develop control system improvements to enhance process capability and meet business demand.
Coordinate major programs and projects requiring technical collaboration.
