Job summary

Stoughton Trailers is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep manufacturing equipment, including CNCs and robotics, operating reliably. You will develop PLC and HMI logic, troubleshoot electrical and control systems, and coordinate with production for efficiency gains.

The role requires a 2-year engineering-related degree or equivalent automation experience, 3+ years in automation/controls, NFPA 70E certification, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in automation, robotics, controls, electrical, or related engineering.
• 3 years automation, robotics, and controls experience.
• NFPA 70E Certification required.
• OSHA Certification preferred.
• Ability to create, modify and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs and read electrical schematics.
• Must work at a fast pace and take responsibility for mistakes.
• Learn to read and interpret prints, schematics, diagrams, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Learn to use a multimeter and computer.
• Lean concepts knowledge beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills including fractions.
• Willingness to take related training.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance needs to keep equipment running and safe.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC, robotics, pumps, welders, conveyors, and related systems.
• Create/modify PLC and HMI programs; edit PLCs and develop screens.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering for reliability improvements.
• Coordinate safety, training, and contractor work and ensure standards.
