Job summary

Altria Client Services LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer I to support PMUSA’s Primary Processing operations. You will develop PLC software, HMIs, and control system improvements while collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure robust performance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 5 years of experience with process control systems. Expect a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment with opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting process control systems and related hardware/software.
Experience with PLC/SCADA/HMI systems and digital networks is required.
Knowledge of P&IDs and loop sheets is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support during normal and off-hours to ensure tobacco processing meets business needs.
Develop PLC software and operator interfaces (HMI).
Develop and deploy control system improvements to enhance process capability.
Analyze process data to evaluate health and performance; Canary experience is desired.
Plan and execute projects and support maintenance with internal and external resources.
Support reliability initiatives to minimize failures through root cause analysis and predictive maintenance.
Mentor team members and operations on technical topics.
