Job summary

ManpowerGroup is supporting a leading automotive manufacturing company in Detroit, MI to hire a Controls Engineer. You will design, implement, and support production line automation, PLC/NC programming with Siemens platforms, and collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering, 5+ years in industrial automation, strong PLC/HMI skills, and experience troubleshooting automated equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years in controls engineering, industrial automation, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong experience with PLC programming, preferably Siemens platforms.
• Knowledge of HMI systems, industrial communication networks, and electrical schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide production line support for controls logic, PLC, and NC programming using Siemens-based hardware platforms.
• Design, implement, and maintain control systems for industrial equipment and automated processes.
• Troubleshoot, test, and debug PLC, CNC, and HMI systems to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to integrate automation solutions.
• Support continuous improvement projects focused on production throughput, equipment reliability, and KPI achievement.
