Job summary

Talentify in Fremont, CA is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and HR processes within a multi‑industry manufacturing environment. You will ensure timely, accurate GAAP statements and regulatory compliance across audits and tax activities.

The role is fully on‑site, demanding hands‑on experience with month‑end closes, payroll, AP/AR, and banking relations, plus strong Excel skills and the ability to implement robust internal controls and HR

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive accounting experience in financial management and reporting.
• Experience in a manufacturing industry environment.
• Strong month-end close and financial reporting skills with GAAP knowledge.
• Proficiency in general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Experience budgeting, variance analysis, and variance reports.
• Hands-on experience with AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Designing and enforcing internal controls over financial and HR processes.
• Exposure to HR processes and personnel records and compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience supporting audits with external auditors.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop budgets and variance reports for management decision-making.
• Prepare monthly/annual internal and external financial statements.
• Prepare year-end GAAP financial statements.
• Coordinate annual financial audit and tax preparation with external auditors.
• Maintain HR procedures and records per state/federal requirements and DHS/DOW standards.
• Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies.
• Coordinate HR software and records with IT systems.
• Document and enforce internal controls across financial and HR processes.
• Maintain training records and ensure proper scheduling and documentation.
• Prepare regulatory reports such as census reports and respond to information requests.
• Manage accounts payable and line of credit borrowing.
• Manage accounts receivable and payroll functions.
• Reconcile banking statements and manage authorized signatories.
• Support cyber security initiatives related to financial and HR data.
• Assist in banking relationships and 401(k) program administration.
• Advise the board on 401(k) administration.
