Job summary

States Manufacturing Corporation is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller and lead the core accounting operations from close to reporting. The ideal candidate is a CPA with manufacturing accounting experience who guides and develops the team, reviews detailed work, and drives process improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Active CPA license.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a senior role within manufacturing.
Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency with ERP systems (Syteline, NetSuite or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with close calendar, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prepare accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements and schedules.
Analyze results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate findings.
